With every step we take, our journey is filled with love and respect, reaching out to seniors everywhere, regardless of cultural, geographical, or societal differences. By saying "without borders," we emphasise that our dedication knows no limits. We recognise that the wisdom, stories, and experiences of seniors are an integral part of our shared global family.

BOHME embarked on a journey to better understand the world of Care Homes, Care Centres, and the beloved seniors within our community. With a mission to uncover the hidden struggles and everyday challenges, BOHME set out on a series of comprehensive feasibility studies.

The goal was clear and noble: to pinpoint the pain points that hindered the quality of life and care for seniors. By delving deep into the experiences of caregivers and seniors alike, BOHME aimed to find ways to transform these struggles into opportunities for improvement. Through this dedicated effort, BOHME hoped to weave a tapestry of solutions that would brighten the lives of seniors and elevate the standards of care in our community.

Woodlands Care Home (Vanguard Healthcare)

BOHME embarked on the first heartfelt mission to celebrate the lives of seniors, starting with Woodlands Care Home during the COVID pandemic, a time when no one else dared to come and visit. Despite the challenges, having to put on a full suit, gloves and mask fighting the heat and discomfort, our commitment shone through, bringing joy and companionship to the residents(VIPs) with engaging activities and thoughtful interactions, creating a warm and vibrant atmosphere amidst the isolation.

Singapore Christian Home

BOHME's mission continued at Singapore Christian Home, where we started off by celebrating the Dumpling Festival with the VIPs. We brought down a magician to entertain everyone and mingled with the VIPs, creating a festive and joyous atmosphere. It was an honour for us to know that we were serving a few VIPs who witnessed and were a part of the battles in Singapore during World War II. Two VIPs shared stories of how difficult life was back then and expressed their pride in witnessing Singapore's remarkable achievements today.

Bukit Batok Care Centre (Vanguard Healthcare)

Next, we extended our mission to Bukit Batok Care Home. We eagerly involved seniors at the Bukit Batok Care Centre situated within the Care Home. Playing tabletop games with the seniors, we bonded with them, ensuring that every visit was filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and support tailored to their needs.

Singapore Nurses' Day

In addition to these heartwarming visits to Care Homes, we took a bold move to celebrate Singapore Nurses Day by organising a special event across all five Vanguard Care Homes. We expressed our gratitude to the dedicated nursing staff by providing cakes with heartfelt messages, acknowledging their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the residents, especially during the trying COVID period, where the rest of the world shun away from Care Homes. This celebration was a testament to BOHME's deep respect for the essential role nurses play in the care and comfort of our seniors.

Sree Narayana Mission

At the SNM Active Ageing Centre, BOHME first contributed by stepping in with our Community Angels to assist during SNM Active Ageing Care Centre opening ceremony. We warmly welcomed the seniors living in the vicinity, showing them what to expect and the various activities they could enjoy at the centre. Our Community Angels introduced themselves to the seniors, expressing our excitement to visit them regularly and support their engagement in the community. It was the beginning of BOHME’s friendship with the staff and seniors at SNM Active Ageing Care Centre.

Tampines Care Home (Vanguard Healthcare)

Tampines Care Home was the next stop on BOHME's journey, where we focused on tabletop games and karaoke. By introducing a variety of engaging and interactive games, along with lively karaoke sessions, we created a fun and stimulating environment that enhanced the VIPs’ cognitive skills and social interactions while also allowing them to enjoy their favourite tunes and sing along.

Senja Care Home (Vanguard Healthcare)

When Senja Care Home, the newest Care Home under Vanguard Healthcare that started operation in 2021, opened its doors to BOHME, we stepped into this fresh chapter with high spirits, bringing along tabletop games to engage the seniors. Our activities were more than just games; they were moments of connection and celebration. The smiles on the VIPs’ faces and the twinkle in their eyes were testaments to the joy and comfort they felt. It was a privilege to be part of their lives, even in a small way, and to create moments where they are cherished.

MWS Bethany Nursing Home

At MWS Bethany Nursing Home, BOHME's approach shone through in inclusive and engaging activities. The seniors particularly enjoyed challenging games tabletop games, where they loved outdoing one another and emerging as winners. These games not only provided entertainment but also fostered a friendly competitive spirit, bringing joy and excitement to the residents.

Wui Chiu Fui Kun

Our dedication extended beyond Care Homes, as we found a unique way to honour the hardworking senior cardboard collectors in the North during the Double Ninth Festival. We brought them to Mount Faber, where they received goodie bags filled with thoughtful items. The day was filled with excitement and camaraderie as they climbed to the top of the hill and exercised together with other seniors from different parts of Singapore. This gathering not only celebrated their existence but also promoted physical activity and a sense of community, making the occasion a memorable and heartwarming experience for all involved.

MWS Bethany Nursing Home

BOHME had the joy of participating in a special Flea Market event held during Christmas at MWS Bethany Nursing Home, marking a significant moment as Care Homes began reopening to the public after the COVID-19 pandemic. The flea market pasar malam brought a wave of nostalgia for the residents of the nursing home in Choa Chu Kang, helping the seniors remember the good old days of their youth. This bazaar was the biggest event at the care facility since the onset of the pandemic, a time when activities were limited to the wards with controlled group sizes and strict social distancing. The event was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the community and celebrate the season of giving, creating cherished memories for all involved.

Pearl's Hill Care Home (Vanguard Healthcare)

At Pearl's Hill Care Home, the first government-run nursing home which started in 2016, we were excited to spend time with the seniors there. It was a small, cozy Care Home nestled amidst the bustling Pearl's Hill estate. We began our journey there by introducing all sorts of games to the seniors, creating a warm and intimate setting for them to enjoy. The experience was heartening, as we connected with the seniors and witnessed the joy these simple activities brought to their day.

In a Berita Harian local media report, it was highlighted that BOHME organises events to bring the community together and ensure that the senior are given avenues to celebrate national festivities.

In the interview, our Director expressed that Team BOHME help facilitate unity among the community, regardless of race, language, or religion, as proof that we live on this earth to support each other, respect and appreciate one another, and celebrate together to ensure the Singapore’s continued multiracial harmony.

Sree Narayana Mission

It is always good to know that we are being appreciated, but our true motivation lies in our heartfelt mission to celebrate our seniors. Receiving a letter of appreciation from Mr. Jayadev Unnithan, President of Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore), for our contributions during the trying times of COVID was an honour. Yet, our greatest reward comes from the joy and connection we bring to the lives of the seniors. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to sharing and spreading happiness, and creating meaningful connections in our community.

Agency of Integrated Care

BOHME received a heartfelt letter of appreciation from Mr. Andy Seet, Director of the Sector and Partnerships Division at the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC). The letter acknowledged BOHME's valuable contributions to the Community Care sector in support of seniors. It highlighted the Friends of Community Care (FOCC) Awards, established in 2020 by AIC as a prestigious recognition for partners outside the Community Care sector who excel in supporting and growing the sector. The award ceremony involves Community Care partners, including Nursing Homes, center-based, and home care providers, nominating their partners to honor their exceptional contributions. This recognition from Mr. Seet underscores the significant impact BOHME has made in enriching the lives of seniors through their dedicated efforts.

Mega India Expo

BOHME was the CSR partner of Mega India Expo. We took the stage for the first time and played BOHME Bingo game with the public. The event was held at Singapore Expo over 4 days, marking a significant moment in our journey. BOHME Bingo game, one of our key programmes, was a highlight that demonstrated our commitment to engaging seniors through enjoyable activities. At this event, we used our booth to encourage local bakers to showcase and sell their bakes, providing them with a platform to reach a wider audience. This initiative is one of the ways we give back to the community, supporting local talents while sharing our mission. Through platforms like this, we aim to raise awareness about how the public can serve, support and actively participate in our mission to sponsor the seniors in our community.

Mega India Expo

Within a short span of 4 months, BOHME took the stage once again, conducting the BOHME Bingo game in front of thousands during the Mega India Expo Volume 3. We were honoured to be invited back as their CSR partner for a second time, a testament to the positive impact of our work. At the event which was held over a period of 4 days, we also featured our "Happy Booth," where we introduced the general public to our 11 programmes dedicated to celebrating the lives of seniors in Care Homes and Active Ageing Care Centres. We also took the opportunity to celebrate the birthdays of those born in October. A big cake and several cupcakes were prepared for this joyous occasion. The reason behind this celebration was to honour the lives of everyone, and to share the very same spirit of joy and appreciation that we bring to our seniors. This event mirrored how we celebrate life with the seniors at Care Homes. Through events like this, we aim to attract the public to fulfil the duty and responsibility as members of the community to celebrate the very existence of the seniors in our midst.

In just a few years, BOHME has blossomed into a loving and nurturing presence in the community. What began as a modest effort has grown into monthly sessions at Care Homes and Active Ageing Care Centres, where we joyously celebrate birthdays, play tabletop games, and organize outings that awaken and delight the seniors' senses. Each festive occasion becomes a treasured memory as we dance, sing, and share laughter, creating a sense of belonging and warmth among the seniors. We continue to form deep connections with both the seniors and staff at the Care Homes, making every gathering feel like a reunion of a big, loving family. Our journey of celebrating life shall continue and progress.
